A. Overview
Gunung Leuser National Park or TNGL a panorama of nature and the "lungs" of the world that have been set by the Government of Indonesia as a national nature reserve since 1980 and established as a world heritage (Biosphere Reserve) by UNESCO in 2004. Government of Indonesia and Malaysia are also working together to set TNGL and Taman Negara National Park in Malaysia as "Sister Park". TNGL located in an area of 792,675 hectares, at altitude 3404 meters above sea level with air temperature 21 ° - 28 ° C.
B. FeatureMount leuser forest is very dense, file coastal forest and tropical rain forest. In it there are several rivers, lakes, hot springs, valleys, and waterfalls. Ecosystems are very beautiful and diverse landscape that includes the lowlands (coast) to the mountain. There are a variety of endangered species, such as jungle cats, tigers, hornbills, orangutans, gibbons, snakes, butterflies, birds, Sumatran elephant, Sumatran rhinoceros, forest sheep, and sambar deer. In addition, there are plants strangler (fig) and other rare plants, such as giant flowers "Rhizanthes zippelnii" 1.5 meters in diameter, Raflesia flowers, and leaves a giant umbrella.
There are six major location attractions in Montain Leuser National Park, the Hill Lawang Bohorok or famous as the orang-utan conservation area; Kluet famous for cave tours and canoe tours on lakes and rivers; Montain Leuser is often used for tourist sites climbing and climbing adventure mountain; Alas River which is often used as a sports tourism sites arum rapids; Secondary frequently used as campsites, wildlife observation and cave tour; and Gurah, as the location for enjoying the natural scenery is very beautiful with a variety of unique and rare plants, as well as place observations of various endangered species.

Towards Access LocationsTo reach the tourist sites, visitors can go through the route of Medan, North Sumatra towards Kutacane, Aceh Tenggara (which is approximately 240 km) with a travel time of approximately eight hours to drive the car.
